Rossmoor Foundation Scholarship
The Rossmoor Scholarship Foundation (RSF) is a volunteer organization of residents of Rossmoor, a senior community in Walnut Creek, California. Each year the foundation awards scholarships to help outstanding local students continue their education.
- Awarded to students with significant financial need, academic achievement, and noteworthy extracurricular activities and work experience
- A committee of RSF Board members will review the applicant’s SAI (student aid index), school transcript (GPA), extracurricular activities, work experience, personal essay, and letter(s) of recommendation
- The committee will interview the applicant in person or via Zoom
Requirements:
- Must be a graduating student at Los Medanos College (LMC)
- Must file a FAFSA or California Dream Act Application (CADAA) and have a student aid index (SAI) of no more than $32,000
- Must have a GPA of 3.0 or higher
- Must be transferring to an accredited four-year college or university, or a trade school that is accredited by a federally approved accrediting agency
- Must submit online application and all other required documents by the February 20, 2024 deadline.
In addition to applying for a $3,500 Rossmoor Scholarship, an applicant may also apply for add-on awards. These awards are $2,500 each and significantly increases the total scholarship amount received from RSF. An applicant may apply for one or more awards, but each award requires a separate essay.
