2025 Seven Generations Scholarship
The Seven Generations Scholarship Fund commits to empower our communities by investing in the education of future generations to provide financial assistance and pathways for Native American/Alaska Native students and Native American Health Center staff who support its mission and reside in Alameda, San Francisco, and Contra Costa counties.
Eligibility Requirements
• Must be tribally enrolled/affiliated (Federal, State or Tribal recognition)
• Reside in Alameda, Contra Costa, or San Francisco counties of the State of CA
• High school graduate or equivalent
• Accepted to or currently attending a non-profit and accredited community college, university or vocational/technical training institution located in the U.S.
• GPA of 2.5 or higher
• Must be enrolled as a full‐time or part‐time student (at least one class that is three (3) semester units or four (4) quarter units)
Selection Criteria
The Seven Generations Scholarship committee will review each completed application and will make awards based upon specific criteria and required documents provided in the application. Selection criteria includes:
• Completed Application
o Incomplete or late applications will not be reviewed
• Documentation showing proof that you are tribally enrolled/affiliated (Federal, State or Tribal recognition)
o Individual documentation or immediate family documentation will be eligible
• Acceptance letter if recently accepted to a school, or class schedule showing full-time or part-time status from the school you are attending or accepted to
• Spring 2025 Transcript from your high school, vocational school or college (showing GPA of 2.5 or higher)
o Unofficial transcripts are eligible
• Letter of recommendation from an instructor, counselor, and/or mentor within the 2025-year period
o Letter of recommendation should include information on who the recommender is, their connection with the applicant they are recommending, and reasons for why the applicant is qualified for the 7G Scholarship.
• A written Personal Statement answering both prompts below (new applicants only):
o A written response explaining how you decided on your choice of area of study, and how it will support your personal and professional goals (250 words max)
o A written response on the ways that you have engaged with your own Native community, and what has been the impact of this engagement within your Native community (250 words max)
