The Karen Ha Scholarship
Each year, KACF-SF awards the Karen Ha Scholarship to two Korean American students who demonstrate academic promise, leadership potential, and financial need.
Scholarship Awards
- Incoming Freshman: $10,000 total ($2,500 per year, renewable for up to four years) for students enrolling at a four-year college or university
Transfer Students: $5,000 total ($2,500 per year, renewable for up to two years) for students transferring from a local community college to a four-year college or university
Eligibility:
- Grade level: Incoming freshman planning to enroll full-time at an accredited four-year college or university OR Transfer student from a Bay Area community college planning to enroll full-time at an accredited four-year college or university
- Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0
- Ethnic Heritage: Applicants must have Korean American heritage
- Demonstrated financial need
- Residency: Must reside in one of the five Bay Area counties: Alameda, Contra Costa, San Francisco, San Mateo, and Santa Clara. Transfer student applicants must currently be attending a community college in one of these counties.
- Undocumented students with DACA status are eligible to apply; International students are not eligible to apply
