Matthew Shepard Tolerance Scholarship

This scholarship is being offered to honor the life of Matthew Shepard, a gay man who was murdered because of his sexual orientation. The scholarship is awarded to students who have demonstrated deliberate and courageous support for people whose sexual orientation or gender identity has caused them to be treated unequally under the law, or become targets of intolerance, hatred or violence.
Applicant must be:

  • A LMC student continuing at LMC in the upcoming fall 2018 and spring 2019 or transferring fall 2018
  • Minimum GPA of 2.5 or higher
  • Possess excellent interpersonal skills
  • Typed essay must discuss your commitment to fostering a climate of inclusion for LGBTQ people, and describe your personal achievements, community involvement and service to others which demonstrate your commitment to the ideals of inclusion, equality, and compassion for all people.
